News and Opportunity for Alliance of Professional Horse Trainers

Hello Reader,

Welcome to spring. Most of us are back on the road, legged up, and rolling into the 2026 season. We have been fortunate with the weather in South Central Texas. Our thoughts are with the trainers in North Texas who experienced property damage and loss during the recent snowstorm. Many horses and operations were affected. We appreciate our fellow trainers who jumped in to support others during the storm.

On a brighter note, save the date and plan to attend this upcoming opportunity.

A light breakfast and coffee will be served, and this is a free event that we co-host with SHTX.

This day and time should not conflict with our trainer duties, as our clients will be in the clinic setting and we will not be showing.

We will have three fast-paced mini segments:

  1. SHTX Updates
Key updates from Stock Horse of Texas Association that trainers need to know for their own showing and for their clients.
  2. Rule Changes for 2026
Judge Marilyn Peters will walk us through the 2026 rule changes in Boxing cow-work instituted by the National Reined Cow Horse Association and adopted by Stock Horse of Texas Association. We will review example runs and discuss how they will be judged at SHTX shows.
  3. Business Development: Trainer Endorser Programs.
A practical segment on how to align with companies you already trust to grow your credibility and business. We will outline key elements of endorser and ambassador programs and share a handful of structured programs that can help you generate additional income or reduce operating costs in your barn. This is about leveraging the influence you already have and using it to strengthen your business.

An RSVP will be sent out through SHTX email. Watch for it and secure your seat.

We continue building resources behind the scenes for trainers and business managers. Education, tools, and opportunities that help us run stronger operations and support each other’s endeavors.

See you in Bryan.

Cheers,

Shannon Pigott / Janet Kalinowski

P.S. Don’t forget, our Digital App is a great way for members to stay connected, ask questions, and post resources we can all use.

Stay Connected in the Digital Companion App

We’ve been intentional about building resources and platforms that keep us connected, informed, and supported — without overcomplicating things or reinventing the wheel.

To do that, the Alliance of Professional Horse Trainers currently lives inside a private digital companion app. The Alliance has its own dedicated, professional-only spaces built specifically for trainers.

We hope in the future there will be enough growth in our group to fully fund our own digital experience to communicate and connect.

Inside the Alliance sections (Digital Arenas), you’ll find:

  • Nine dedicated Arenas of knowledge, designed for professional trainers, only. (including the Trainer’s Round Pen, Business Education, Horse Show Finder, and more)
  • 30+ original articles, videos, and instructional programs created specifically for trainers and clinicians.
  • Business-focused education and real-world tools that support profitability, organization, and long-term sustainability.
  • Private discussion spaces to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from peers who understand the realities of this profession.
  • Conference replays, downloads, and ongoing resources that extend the value of live events.

The Alliance experience inside it is unmistakably professional and trainer-focused. This structure allows us to deliver a high-quality digital experience, expand resources thoughtfully, and keep membership accessible — all while continuing to grow what’s available to you.

It's secure and limited to just trainers and industry professionals. We even have an approval process for people to join the Alliance Digital Arenas.

Remember: Your Alliance membership includes free monthly webinars, discounts on trainer-focused skill-building events, clinics, and workshops, and access to the Digital Arenas for you and one business manager, assistant trainer or spouse. Inside you’ll find our growing content library, upcoming event listings, the member directory, and a place to ask questions and get real answers.
